Engineered nano–bio interfaces–driven by vertical micro/nanoneedles, nanoparticles, organ-on-chip devices, and a diversity of nanosubstrates for mass spectroscopy imaging–are spurring scientific technological progress, from fundamental to transnational biomedical research. Each class has its own characteristic features, which is critical their translational uptake, but they broadly share the same range functionality applicability at forefront modern research medicine. The review provides insights into unique attributes microneedle technology ability efficient transdermal transport therapeutic compounds. uses nanoneedle in precise manipulation increasingly complex cellular processes cell–material interface potential major improvements many applications ex vivo cell-based therapies are highlighted.
